Our Solution Story

The Town Center in Peachtree Corners, a thriving Atlanta suburb in one of Georgia’s fastest growing counties, is a mixed-use commercial development featuring over 25 restaurants and shops.

A central attraction of the development is the Town Green, a recreational and entertainment venue featuring a versatile sound system designed by dB Integrations.

Audio + Control

The Town Green is an expansive lawn of 2+ acres, anchored by an outdoor stage and screen. We were contracted to design an audio system and controls that could accommodate a range of community events, from yoga classes to movie nights.

dB Integrations already had a successful professional relationship with the City of Peachtree Corners, and their IT infrastructure partner Corus360 invited us to subcontract on the Town Green project.

Our challenge in designing the Town Green’s audio system was to provide sufficient but not overpowering sound coverage. From the stage to the far end of the lawn is over 200 feet, with residences just beyond.

Our solution was a pair of Danley Sound Labs’ OS-80 speakers and a pair of Danley’s OS-115 subwoofers, mounted to the front of the stage roof. This combination delivers quality sound to the entire width and length of the Town Green. But the volume drops enough along that distance to avoid overwhelming the townhome residents.

We designed a control system that fits into a closet behind the stage, with all equipment for the Town Green’s AV controlled by a user-friendly Crestron system. A touch panel at the control rack makes quick adjustments a breeze, and Crestron’s XPanel interface allows remote access from any other computer.

A video switcher accommodates multiple video sources for the large LED screen nearby, including a PC computer, cable receiver, DVD player. An input plate on the back wall of the stage allows audio and HDMI input to connect directly to the central system. The system also includes an audio switcher and processor, amplifier, and wireless microphone system with antenna distribution.

Recap

The Town Green now hosts a variety of public events every week, drawing in local residents as well as visitors to the development’s retail outlets. The integrated technology system by dB is an essential part of the greenspace’s functionality and appeal.
