Our Solution Story

Tallulah Falls Schools, founded in 1909, is a private school serving 5th-12th grade students in the Northeast Georgia mountains. As the student body has grown over the years, so has the need for expanded facilities and state-of-the-art technologies. Therefore, the school built a new multi-purpose gym/theater/classroom facility that houses athletic competition and artistic endeavors as well as practical hands-on education in advanced technologies.

Total System

AUDIO + VIDEO + LIGHTING + CONTROL

The school contacted dB Integrations to begin the processes of systems designs for a wide variety of uses — in mass AV presentations, theatrical performances, athletic events coverage and streaming, and education in broadcast technologies and production. Sales Consultant Neil Philpott met with Tallulah Falls staff to assess their needs and goals for the new facility’s technology and then began the collaborative process of translating those goals to dB’s designing and engineering team. The process of integrations began as the construction of the new facilities proceeded.

Audio

The final outcome was a facility containing a gymnasium audio system for full court and audience audio coverage with Danley Sound Labs SBH10 paraline speaker technology and a TH-118 subwoofer. The audio system also has a portable mixing rack that can be operated both on the tactile controls or an iPad wireless control app. This same audio system can also be used during theatrical performances with an additional rolling front-of-house rack, containing a Soundcraft digital mixer and snake system for use with the rack of wireless microphones.

The Digital Projection HD Laser projector is mounted at the rear of the stage and shines from the rear of a Draper electric screen for use with presentations and announcements.

The broadcast camera system is made up of three manned Panasonic HD studio configured cameras with interconnections around the upper gym track as well as the lower court side seating areas, allowing for both sports angles as well as straight on shots of presenters and theatrical characters.

These cameras connect to a centralized production room with a Blackmagic Design HD-SDI switcher with multi-view monitoring, a secondary Soundcraft audio mixer, SSD recording for post-production editing, and conversion into the school’s network for streaming and broadcasting to the Samsung digital signage system.

Control

All systems are integrated with a Crestron control system for the configuration of the system’s usage as well as for simple wired or wireless control of the source selections and volume control.
