Our Solution Story
Takeuchi, one of the leading manufacturers in the compact equipment industry for building excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, skid steers and more, recently renovated their facility in Pendergrass, Georgia, and constructed a second floor to expand upon their office and cubicle space while also adding a large training room. We met with Takeuchi’s President, Clay Eubanks, during the construction phase to evaluate their audio and video needs.
The large training room needed video reproduction, audio distribution, wireless collaboration and a simple control solution to tie all the technology together. Additionally, it was determined that the open cubicles, various offices and small conference rooms needed a sound-masking solution for privacy and helping maintain productivity.
Audio + Video + Control
After the initial onsite survey, Jason Block began compiling a list of equipment to address Takeuchi’s needs. Then, after a brief meeting with dB’s engineering team for review, a solution was presented to, discussed with and accepted by Mr. Eubanks of Takeuchi.
dB Integrations’ installation team got to work and in two days completed the installation of both the sound-masking system and training room AV system to Takeuchi’s satisfaction.
Audio
For the large training room, dB recommended speakers and amplifier from Atlas Sound for audio distribution. To address the sound-masking challenge in the cubicles, offices, and conference rooms, a Cambridge Sound Management QT 600 system was recommended.
Video
For the large training room, dB installed two Panasonic projectors with Da-lite screens for video presentation.
Control
Kramer’s VIA Connect Pro was proposed for wireless collaboration, and a Crestron all-in-one video switcher/controller was incorporated to manage all the audio and video sources. A custom podium from Sound-Craft was included to house all the equipment including podium microphone, wireless microphone system, and all the other rack-mounted devices. Finally, dB installed a simple twelve-button control panel on the top of the podium to allow for powering on/off of the projectors, selecting audio/video sources, and adjusting volume.
