The Ultimate High School Football Experience

When the City of Buford and Buford City Schools opened Philip Beard Stadium this year, home of the 2025 national champion Buford Wolves, they brought dB Integrations on board to deliver a complete audio, video, and control solution: one capable of running an entire game-day operation from a single point of control. The project extended a long-standing relationship between dB Integrations and the district, which also includes the Buford High School Performing Arts Center and a 150-seat middle school performing arts auditorium completed earlier this year.

The Challenge

Buford’s goals went beyond simply amplifying sound in the stadium bowl. The district needed:

Full-coverage stadium sound that could deliver a college-level experience to every seat
A dedicated multipurpose room for team functions, fan events, and city meetings, with independently zoned audio and the ability to cast live game feeds and other content to multiple TVs
Audio support in the football locker rooms for players before, during, and after games
Concourse-wide audio and video coverage so fans remain connected to the game while at concessions or walking between sections
A single, centralized control point for managing every speaker zone and screen in the building on game night

“When we started talking about everything we needed, I knew what I wanted it to do, but they had to figure out how to get me there,” said said David Kimbro, technical director for Buford City Schools.

Excellence in Every Area

dB Integrations designed and installed a system built to create the ultimate experience for all involved: student athletes, fans, coaches, faculty, staff, and fans alike.

The Solution

dB Integrations built the audio experience around Danley Sound Labs loudspeakers for the stadium’s primary sound reinforcement: two Danley J8 loudspeakers and four Danley BC415 subwoofers at the center of the video board, with two Danley OS62 loudspeakers extending coverage to each side of the bowl delivering clear, impactful audio from a single centralized location to every seat in the stadium.

For the concourse and other auxiliary areas, dB Integrations installed Danley Go2 loudspeakers, ensuring fans never feel disconnected from the action while at the concession stand or moving through the stadium. The same Go2 loudspeakers, paired with subwoofers, were installed in the football locker rooms to give players a dynamic audio environment pre-game.

Inside the stadium’s multipurpose room (used for team functions, fan gatherings, and City of Buford meetings) dB Integrations installed zoned QSC ceiling speakers zoned so the room can be configured as one unified space or split into individual sections. The room is also equipped with multiple TVs capable of displaying a live game feed, complete with stadium audio and announcer commentary, or content cast directly from a computer all without needing to walk to each individual screen.

Across the concourse, dB Integrations also installed TVs running a mix of live video and digital signage powered by BrightSign, used to display concession menus and other game-day content.

All of these systems, whether stadium sound, locker room audio, the multipurpose room, and concourse displays, are managed from a single control point using a QSC touch panel display, giving stadium staff the ability to manage every speaker zone and every screen in the building from one location.

“This place is something on Friday nights — I’m sitting up there behind that board, and I can control every TV and every speaker and everything from one location,” Kimbro said.

Customer Service and True Partnership

For Buford staff, the standout part of the project wasn’t only the technology itself, but the support behind it.

“dB Integrations was a great partner to come alongside, because we can build the best product in the world, but if it’s installed improperly or not tuned correctly, then we have issues on our hands — and that was certainly not the case here,” said Tony Wolfe, Buford City School District athletic director and City of Buford stadium manager. “The thing that I’ve noticed is just the amount of care and service they’ve provided — how many times they’ve been out here testing and making sure everything is working properly. I don’t know much about the physics of sound, but I do know the sound in here is great, and their service has been extraordinary.”

That continued involvement is consistent with how dB Integrations approaches every project, regardless of size. “dB loves doing big stadiums like this. It’s something we want to have excellence in, but at the same time, we also want to take pride in the 150-seat auditorium that we did for them this summer for their middle school performing arts,” said Jeremy Clark, Operations Manager at dB Integrations. “We want to have excellence in that area, excellence at the soccer field, excellence with baseball. No matter how small the project may seem, we want to give it 100% and make sure it’s done with excellence.”

The Result

The completed system gives Buford City Schools a stadium that operates with the technical sophistication of a college or professional venue, run entirely from one location, with sound quality consistent across every part of the facility — the bowl, the concourse, the locker rooms, and the multipurpose room.

“It’s really special when you can walk in a stadium and no matter where you go, the clarity is there,” Wolfe said. “We’ve heard nothing but great things from our community, but also from people from the outside coming in. It just has a great feel to it.”
